Botswana’s First Digital Census, a Touchstone for Mindset Change and Sustainable Development.
Event Summary
Statistics Botswana conducted the 2022 Population and Housing Census in April 2022, released the preliminary results in May 2022, and continued to release other census information thereafter. The dissemination conference will now officially release the full census results. The census dissemination conference will include a high level official opening ceremony, dissemination of the key findings and thematic census analytical papers presentations by analysts. The full results from the census will provide information on the number of people, their spatial distribution, sex and age structure, living conditions and key socioeconomic characteristics. Data from the census is critical for national and sub-national development planning; market analysis; and tracking of progress towards national and international development frameworks such as the; National Development Plan (NDP) 11; Vision 2036; Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); and Agenda 2063 among others.
